When you create an account and enter the Brack Attack contest, we collect:

• Name and email address — to identify your entry and contact you if you win
• Your 16 team picks — to calculate your score and display on the leaderboard
• Device/browser type — basic analytics to improve the site (no personally identifiable info)

We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, or any sensitive personal data.

Your information is used only to:

• Run the contest and calculate scores
• Display your name (first name + last initial) on the public leaderboard
• Contact you if you win a prize
• Send contest-related emails (score updates, round results, winner announcements)

We will never use your email for unrelated marketing without your explicit consent.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We use the following third-party services to operate the site:

• Firebase (Google) — secure database to store your account and picks. Firebase Privacy Policy
• EmailJS — sends confirmation emails. Your email is used only for transactional messages. EmailJS Privacy Policy
• Netlify — website hosting. Standard web server logs only. Netlify Privacy Policy

By entering the contest, you agree that your first name and last initial (e.g. "Jared G.") may appear on the public leaderboard alongside your score.

Your full name, email address, and specific team picks are never publicly displayed.

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no internet transmission is 100% secure.

We retain your data for the duration of the contest plus 90 days for prize fulfillment purposes. You may request deletion at any time.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correct — update your name or email via your account settings
• Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out — unsubscribe from contest emails at any time

We use localStorage (browser storage) to save your theme preference and session data. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

The Brack Attack contest is open to users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted an entry, please contact us immediately.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll post changes here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
